I cannot understand why this defense is regressing. Or maybe it's the same defense as in the Bama game but it's just that opposing teams now know how to attack it. The defense - unlike the offense - has remained relatively healthy, yet multiple guys are still making the same mistakes - particularly in the passing game. And getting guys to the ground while rushing the passer and tackling in general is absolutely atrocious.
If FSU can somehow go 7-5 then this staff needs to remain intact. Even 6-6 with a bowl berth is probably acceptable (barely). Either of those scenarios will likely allow them to keep the recruiting class relatively intact - albeit it at a higher price - without having to blow up the ship. And I definitely agree with you that Alford and the administration panicking and hiring a clown like say Deion or Kiffin would be awful. I wouldn't trust either of those guys to manage a car wash. Each of them need to say right where they're at.
Let's get to a bowl somehow, some way. Give Malzahn and White a full offseason to teach and then couple that with a nice influx of paid talent a la Texas Tech with Norvell once again ponying up a good portion of that with some of that ridiculous $10M he gets every year.
