Taking Stock after JSU and Previewing Wake Forest

Taking Stock after JSU and Previewing Wake Forest

The final play of the JSU game revealed more than one concerning problem, and the way it was handled afterwards wasn’t encouraging either. Which QB is a better fit for this offense? And a preview of a pivotal game against Wake Forest that may ultimately determine the direction of the Norvell regime at FSU.

    Hello Dr Staples,
I subscribe to. “The Unconquered Podcast.” I enjoy your show. I find the pod to entertaining ad enlightening. You always have good content with accurate information. I like that you teach your audience and share your opinion based on logic and facts.
I listened to your latest pod and feel compelled to comment. Referencing Coach Norvell”s press conference, you suggested that he lied about the defensive play call. I would like to suggest s different take. Realizing that calls are signaled in to the defense and all players should be looking for the signal and getting set. There is still a player responsible to relay the call and make sure everyone lines up correctly. Normally this is a middle linebacker. I think Norvell gave accurate info heard on the headset. The play was signaled in and was relayed incorrectly. Remember Deloach was out of the game. Norvell had a shocked look in that press conference.

      Hi Kyle,
Thanks for this. It’s entirely possible that you’re right, but I know their signal system and think this explanation is unlikely, especially since they were in the same coverage on the prior play. The whole secondary gets the signal from the sideline together, and they then communicate with one another to ensure they’re on the same page with checks, etc.
